Washington D.C — Today, Unrig Our Economy is releasing a new ad calling out Congressman Rob Bresnahan (PA-08) for voting to cut Medicaid so he could give millionaires and billionaires yet another tax break. Earlier this year, Congressman Bresnahan promised his constituents that Republicans in Congress “are not going to gut Medicaid.” Just months later, he voted for the largest Medicaid cut in history. This ad comes amid a government shutdown due to Congressman Bresnahan and congressional Republicans’ refusal to help millions of Americans afford their health care and extend vital health care tax credits.
Unrig Our Economy’s latest ad features Krysten, a constituent of Congressman Bresnahan, who relies on Medicaid. In the ad, Krysten discusses how Medicaid allowed her to afford vital surgeries and is deeply concerned that her congressman would vote for the largest cut to Medicaid in history to help bankroll tax breaks for the super rich – jeopardizing the livelihoods of hardworking people like herself.
