By continuing to vote to support tariffs, Congressman Juan Ciscomani is doubling down on raising costs for Arizonans.
Washington, DC – Wednesday, Congressman Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06) voted alongside almost all of his House Republican colleagues to keep President Trump’s tariffs on Canada in place, meaning he voted to keep costs higher for his constituents once again.
For the past year, Congressman Ciscomani has betrayed his constituents by supporting cost-raising tariffs, repeatedly voting to block any opportunity to stop them – raising costs for working Americans while giving tax breaks to billionaires. On Wednesday, Congressman Ciscomani doubled down on this agenda by voting for Trump’s Canada tariffs, just days after a new report found that the tariffs overall directly cost American households $1,000 last year, with that number expected to increase this year.
“With his vote on Wednesday, Congressman Ciscomani has shown once again that he and his Republican colleagues are more concerned with delivering tax breaks to billionaires than relief to working Americans,” said Unrig Our Economy Campaign Director Leor Tal. “Congressman Ciscomani has repeatedly backed Trump’s tariffs at a time when Arizonans and Americans nationwide are already struggling with rising costs. It’s time he finally stands up for his constituents and stops voting to make their lives less affordable.”
