Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks’ job approval plummets amidst Unrig Our Economy’s accountability efforts on her vote for the Republican Tax Law
Washington D.C — New data from Public Policy Polling demonstrates what you could probably learn from a stop at any Burlington-area Casey’s: Iowans know Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks is bad at her job.
The Congresswoman’s job approval number is 14 points underwater with her own constituents, which tends to happen when you vote to leave tens of thousands of Iowans without the health care coverage they rely on and make them foot the bill for massive tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires. Her vote came after Iowans urged her for months to vote against the law.
The Congresswoman’s low job approval comes as Unrig Our Economy continues to run an ad campaign holding her and her Republican colleagues accountable for voting for the Republican Tax Law – including a new ad on Friday.
“These numbers prove what Iowans have known for a long time: Congresswoman Miller-Meeks is fighting for billionaires, not working-class Iowa families,” said Unrig Our Economy Campaign Director Leor Tal. “We’ll continue ensuring that every time Iowans power up their screens, they’re hearing about Congresswoman Miller-Meeks’ vote to rip health care from Iowans to fund tax breaks for the wealthy.”
