Washington D.C — In Rockland County today, Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17) will appear on stage with a member of the only class benefiting from his economic agenda: a billionaire named Donald Trump.
Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17):
- Voted to support Trump’s tariffs that are raising the cost of groceries and everyday goods.
- Voted for Trump’s SNAP and Medicaid cuts, taking away food assistance and health care from working New York families – in order to pay for massive tax breaks for billionaires and corporations.
- Backed Trump’s war in Iran, raising the cost of gas, food, fertilizer, and just about everything else.
And on top of inflicting that pain on everyday Americans, Congressman Lawler voted to give tax breaks to billionaires while his economic agenda threatens people’s ability to put food on the table.
“The only thing President Trump and Congressman Lawler should do in Rockland County today is apologize to the millions of Americans paying higher costs thanks to their tariffs, SNAP cuts, health care cuts, and war in Iran,” said Unrig Our Economy Campaign Director Leor Tal. “Lawler voted in lockstep with Trump to cut benefits Americans rely on while raising the cost of food, health care, and everyday essentials.
