Congressman Rob Bresnahan’s Stocks Are Up! Just Not With Pennsylvanians

Pennsylvanians are continuing to make their voices heard

Washington D.C — Congressman Rob Bresnahan (PA-08) got elected to Congress, made more than 600 stock trades, owns a secret helicopter, and voted to rip health coverage away from working Pennsylvanians in order to pay for even more tax breaks for the rich. And it’s safe to say Northeastern Pennsylvanians aren’t happy about it.

New polling shows:

  • Just 32 percent of his constituents approve of the job he’s doing while 47 percent disapprove
  • 59 percent of his constituents have serious concerns about his ‘secret’ helicopter
  • And 64 percent have concerns about his broken promise on congressional stock trading

Congressman Bresnahan’s low stock amongst Northeastern Pennsylvanians comes as Unrig Our Economy runs television and digital ads in his district asking his constituents to hold him accountable for voting to raise costs and take away their health care.

“Northeastern Pennsylvanians are struggling with high health care costs and rising grocery store prices. Rather than addressing these issues, Congressman Bresnahan has somehow made more than 600 stock trades since January and chosen to give millionaires like himself even more money,” said Unrig Our Economy Campaign Director Leor Tal. “Congressman Bresnahan has been in office for eight months and his constituents are already worried that he’s more focused on his portfolio than the concerns of working families in his district. Pennsylvanians’ message to Congressman Bresnahan is clear – stop voting to give tax breaks to billionaires and raising our costs.”
