ICYMI: Hundreds of Activists Descend on Washington, Calling on Republicans in Congress to Oppose More Billionaire Tax Breaks

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Last week, hundreds of workers, community members, and advocates from across the country descended on Washington to join Fair Share America to call on their elected representatives to oppose gutting vital programs such as Medicaid and SNAP to give millionaires and billionaires another massive tax break. Instead of listening to them, House Republicans put their heads down, pretended that math wasn’t real, voted to protect cost-raising tariffs, and advanced a plan that sets up  drastic cuts to Medicaid and SNAP that will hurt the very constituents that came to visit them.

However, the fight to oppose Republicans’ pro-billionaire agenda is just getting started, and Americans are seeing through the persistent lies from Republicans in Congress. Now, as Congress goes on recess, working people across the country will continue to make their voices heard loud and clear: they want their representatives to put families over billionaires.
