New Ad: Minnesota Grandmother and Teacher Calls Out Brad Finstad For Supporting Tariffs

Washington D.C — Today, Unrig Our Economy launched a new ad calling out Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) for supporting tariffs that are raising costs for working Minnesota families.

The ad features Dara, a grandmother and teacher from Alden, Minnesota, who has seen firsthand how rising costs are affecting families in the classroom, at the grocery store, and around her own kitchen table.

The Congressional Joint Economic Committee has estimated that tariffs could cost American families an average of $2,500 this year. Those higher costs come on top of increased prices for gas and food because of the Republican war in Iran.

“Republican tariffs are raising the cost of everything from groceries to car repairs to household appliances. And Congressman Brad Finstad voted with Republicans in Congress to keep them in place,” said Unrig Our Economy Campaign Director Leor Tal. “Minnesota families are struggling to make ends meet. The last thing they need is Brad Finstad voting to make their lives even more expensive.”

Ad Transcript:

“Things just cost more than they used to.

And in Congress, Brad Finstad made it worse.

I’m a grandma and a teacher. I’ve seen what this does to families.

In my classroom, at the store, at the table.

Brad Finstad voted for tariffs, hitting us from every direction.

I taught first graders that choices have consequences.

Brad Finstad made his choice, and we’re paying for it.

Brad, I’ve got one thing to tell you:

Stop supporting the tariffs.”
