NEW AD: Unrig Our Economy Calls Out Congressman Tom Kean Jr. For Being the Deciding Vote to Cut Medicaid to Pay for Billionaire Tax Breaks

Washington D.C — Today, Unrig Our Economy is launching a new digital ad in New Jersey’s Seventh Congressional District, calling out Congressman Tom Kean Jr. (NJ-07) for being the deciding vote to cut Medicaid. This ad comes as millions of Americans and up to 394,000 New Jerseyans stand to lose Medicaid if Congressman Kean Jr.’s Republican Tax Scam becomes law – all because he wants to help make the ultra-wealthy even wealthier by handing them another massive tax break.

“In this ad, Phyllis – a lifelong Republican whose mother-in-law depends on Medicaid – urges Congressman Kean Jr. to prioritize the needs of his constituents, many of whom rely on Medicaid for health care,” said Unrig Our Economy spokesperson Kobie Christian. “Phyllis shows how important Medicaid is for working- and middle-class Americans. Her mother-in-law is just one of the hundreds of thousands of people across New Jersey who could be harmed by the Republican Tax Scam. Congressman Kean Jr. should be fighting for his constituents and protecting their health care, not giving tax breaks to the super-rich.”

This ad will run on streaming platforms and Youtube.

Ad Transcript:

I’m a lifelong Republican.

You don’t know how important Medicaid is until a member of your family is dependent on it.

I never expected to be in the position of having to worry about what happens to my mother-in-law if Medicaid ends.

She did everything right.

But she didn’t plan for Congressman Tom Kean Jr. to cut Medicaid.

He was the deciding vote to cut it.

Congressman Kean, stop voting to cut Medicaid.
