NEW AD: Unrig Our Economy Launches New Ad Calling Out Congressman Rob Bresnahan for Voting for Billionaire Tax Breaks As Costs Soar for His Constituents

Washington, D.C — Today, Unrig Our Economy launched a new television ad calling out Congressman Rob Bresnahan (PA-08) for voting to give tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires, while making life more unaffordable for working-class Americans. This ad features Molly, a Scranton, PA native who shares her frustration that Republicans in Congress, like Congressman Bresnahan, continue to shill for the ultra-wealthy while leaving their constituents with higher costs.

“While working-class people like Molly struggle with rising costs, Congressman Bresnahan is busy buying helicopters, trading stocks, and handing out tax breaks to the richest of the rich while cutting Medicaid and SNAP for his constituents,” said Unrig Our Economy Campaign Director Leor Tal. “We are calling on Congressman Bresnahan and his Republican colleagues to lower costs for people like Molly, not give even more handouts to corporations and greedy billionaires.”

You can watch the TV ad here.

Ad Transcript:

I was born and raised in the Scranton area.
My family is here, and I’m going to school here.

It comes at the expense of working people.

I also work part-time at a smoothie shop to help cover costs.

Life is getting more expensive for all of us. I’ve seen people struggle to afford basic needs like food or rent.

Which is why I can’t understand why Congressman Rob Bresnahan voted to give more tax breaks to billionaires while costs rise for the rest of us.

Take it from someone who’s from here and wants to stay here, live here, and work here.
Rob Bresnahan should not be prioritizing billionaires over us.

We know that when the middle class does well, all of us do well — which is why we’re fighting on behalf of working Americans and holding corporations, their wealthy executives, and the politicians who enable them accountable.
