Washington D.C — Today, Unrig Our Economy is launching a new ad in Maine urging Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) to protect Medicaid and the tens of millions of Americans who rely on the program, instead of lining the pockets of billionaires. The ad highlights the consequences everyday Mainers could face if Senator Collins votes for the Republican Tax Scam, including:
- Leaving up to 48,000 Mainers uninsured
- Putting rural hospitals at risk of shutting down
- Causing more than 50,000 additional deaths per year
“Senator Collins shouldn’t put Kasey’s family at risk because she wants to hand out another tax break to the rich,” said Unrig Our Economy Campaign Director Leor Tal. “Medicaid is a ‘lifeline’ for many working- and middle-class families in Maine, just like Kasey’s. Senator Collins should oppose the Republican Tax Scam because it rips health care away from working families to make the wealthy even wealthier.”
