NEW ADS: Mobile Billboards Urge Against House Republicans’ Plan to Let Families With Children Go Hungry In Order To Give Billionaires Even More Money

The Billboards Will Visit Reps. Bresnahan’s (PA-08) and Bacon’s (NE-02) District Offices, As Well As Local Grocery Stores, Calling Out Proposed Cuts to SNAP

Washington, D.C. — Today, Unrig Our Economy launched new mobile billboards in Pennsylvania and Nebraska, calling on Congressman Rob Bresnahan (PA-08) and Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) not to cut  SNAP in the upcoming House Agriculture Committee markup. As the markup approaches and House Republicans go back and forth amongst themselves on how much food to take away from families, new reporting confirms that GOP plans would make it harder for families with children to put food on the table.

Approximately 40 million Americans nationwide rely on SNAP to put food on the table, including millions of children. Congressmen Bresnahan and Bacon must reject cuts to SNAP to pay for their billionaire tax breaks, instead of forcing children and families to go hungry just so the ultra-wealthy can get even richer.

“House Republicans like Congressmen Bresnahan and Bacon have a choice. They can either stand with their constituents who rely on SNAP to get by or they can force families with children to go hungry to help the already rich get even richer,” said Unrig Our Economy spokesperson Kobie Christian. “‘How can I feed my children?’ is a question no parent should have to ask. These ads remind Bresnahan, Bacon, and every Republican in Congress that the answer is simple: Don’t cut SNAP to give a massive tax break for billionaires.”

These mobile billboards will be running today in Omaha, NE and Scranton, PA and will travel to Congressman Bresnahan’s and Congressman Bacon’s district offices, local grocery stores, and more.
