Washington, D.C — Today, Unrig Our Economy is launching a six-figure digital ad campaign in Wisconsin’s third congressional district, calling out Congressman Derrick Van Orden (WI-03) for voting to protect pesticide manufacturers that are contaminating everyday food items. This ad comes as Wisconsin families face a double whammy of food safety and affordability concerns. Thousands in the state have lost access to SNAP thanks to the Republican Tax Law Congressman Van Orden voted for, and many are concerned about the growing health risks to our food supply.
But instead of standing with Wisconsin families, Congressman Van Orden voted to protect pesticide manufacturers.
“While families are worried about affording safe food for their families, Congressman Derrick Van Orden voted to cut SNAP, and he stood behind pesticide manufacturers who are jeopardizing Wisconsinites’ health and safety,” said an Unrig Our Economy Managing Director Katie Gladstone. “This ad spotlights Van Orden’s failure to stand up to big corporations and fight for Wisconsin families.
