Washington, D.C — Today, Unrig Our Economy is launching two new ads in English and Spanish calling out Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz’s (TX-15) vote to cut Medicaid and Medicare to give billionaires even more tax breaks. At a time when families in South Texas are being squeezed by higher prices at the gas pump, grocery store, and doctors office, these ads question why Congresswoman De La Cruz is focusing on giving the ultra-wealthy massive tax breaks, while ripping health care away from millions of Texans.
“Texans are working hard to stay above water as they face higher costs on everything from groceries to energy bills to health care, but Congresswoman De La Cruz has been working to help out the ultra-wealthy and giant corporations instead,” said Unrig Our Economy Campaign Director Leor Tal. “These ads highlight the fact that Republicans in Congress like Monica De La Cruz are focused on helping out the super rich while hardworking families struggle to make ends meet.
