Unrig Our Economy Launches New Ads Calling Out Congressional Republicans for Threatening to Raise Health Care Costs & Shut Down the Government

Washington D.C — Today, Unrig Our Economy is launching new ads calling out Republicans in Congress for raising Americans’ health care costs and threatening a government shutdown. The ad launch comes after Republicans in Congress repeatedly put the wants of billionaires over the needs of working families by cutting Medicaid, backing cost-raising tariffs, and giving massive tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy. These ads will focus on congressional Republicans in 14 districts and highlight the additional damage that will be done if they let vital health care tax credits expire.

“Republicans in Congress are once again putting wealthy donors and billionaires ahead of hardworking families,” Unrig Our Economy Campaign Director Leor Tal. “By threatening to shut down the government unless they can allow health care tax credits to expire, they are putting millions of Americans at risk of paying even higher costs or losing health care entirely. These ads urge Republicans in Congress to reverse course to actually protect Americans’ health care and avoid a government shutdown.
