Washington DC – Today, Unrig Our Economy launched new ads calling out Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) and Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) for raising their constituents’ costs.
In the MN-01 ad, Alden, Minnesota resident Terry explains that his family has farmed the same land for generations, but rising costs due to Finstad-backed tariffs are squeezing his family’s pocketbook and threatening his ability to pass the farm on to his kids. He calls out Congressman Finstad for voting for these tariffs that are hurting farmers while voting to back even more tax breaks for billionaires. The ad comes as 94 percent of farmers say the Iran War will impact their business by raising energy or fertilizer costs, and Finstad-backed tariffs have raised the cost of equipment and fertilizer and shrunk export markets.
The TX-15 ads hold Congresswoman De La Cruz accountable in Spanish and English for the affordability crisis facing Texans, highlighting how Congresswoman De La Cruz’s votes, including for tariffs and health care cuts, are making everyday necessities like groceries, utilities, health care, and housing more expensive.
“Congressman Finstad and Congresswoman De La Cruz have failed to stand up for their constituents, and now they’re being held accountable for the higher costs that are crushing working Americans,” said Unrig Our Economy Campaign Director Leor Tal. “Washington Republicans’ reckless policies have real consequences for countless families struggling to put food on the table and make ends meet. And instead of fighting for everyday Americans, Finstad and De La Cruz voted for even more tax breaks for billionaires.”
