NEW AD: Trump Voter Urges the President Not to Support Tax Breaks for Billionaires
New ad – set to run on Fox and Friends – released ahead of Trump’s Joint Address to Congress, as Republicans advance their proposal to give tax breaks to the wealthy while slashing Medicaid and other essential services
Campaign comes as Republicans face backlash from constituents over both their proposed cuts and DOGE stealing from vital programs to fund their billionaire-first tax plans
Washington, D.C. – Ahead of President Trump’s joint address to Congress, Families Over Billionaires and Unrig Our Economy are launching a new ad titled, “Whose Side,” featuring Leb – a veteran from Woodbridge, Virginia who voted for Trump in 2024. The ad urges the President to put the interests of working families like Leb’s first instead of giving more tax breaks to billionaires and large corporations.
Trump has claimed that he doesn’t want to see any cuts to Medicaid. However, he has endorsed the Republican budget proposal that would do just that, all to pay for more tax breaks for the ultra-rich. Republicans are plowing forward with their pro-billionaire agenda, despite strong, bipartisan public opposition – the overwhelming majority of Americans (82%) don’t want cuts to Medicaid, including 71% of Trump voters.
“Whose Side” will run this week on broadcast, during the Fox News program Fox and Friends, as part of an eight-figure campaign pushing back on Republicans’ tax agenda. This ad builds off of a number of ad campaigns aimed at holding Republicans accountable for putting the interests of their billionaire donors over hardworking families.
Ad Transcript:
“President Trump, I voted for you because you said you’d lower costs and protect jobs. Now you’ve got a chance to keep your word.
You can cut taxes for billionaires and big corporations, or look out for us – the hardworking people who put you into office. So, my question to you is: whose side are you on?
Mr. President, choose families like mine. Don’t give billionaires even more tax breaks. Fight for us, not them.”
