Unrig Our Economy Launches Ad Campaign Holding So-called “Moderate” Republican Representatives Accountable For Voting for Harmful Cuts for Working Americans

WASHINGTON, D.C. —  As the government teetered on the precipice of a shutdown, nearly every House Republican voted to throw everyday Americans’ lives and finances into chaos by cutting access to Security and Medicare, taking food from women, children, and seniors, and raising the cost of housing and utilities. That’s not what moderates do. To ensure accountability, Unrig Our Economy is launching an ad campaign to inform Americans about how their Members of Congress voted and the harmful impact it would have on their day-to-day lives, starting with Reps. Williams, De La Cruz, Kiggans, Bacon, and Duarte. 

Unrig Our Economy campaign director Sarah Baron issued the following statement:
“Constituents need to know that their representatives in Congress voted to screw them over. House Republicans’ economic policy has always been about upending everyday people’s lives in service of giving more tax breaks to corporations and billionaires, and their vote Friday was an admission of their backward priorities.”
